Here’s a polished version that improves the flow, grammar, and readability while keeping your opinions intact: Royalton CHIC Cancun – Real-Time Review (Day 8 of 10): Great Holiday, But Not the Right Resort for Us We are currently staying at Royalton CHIC Cancun and are on day 8 of a 10-night trip. We’re visiting from the UK, are frequent travellers in our mid-40s, and felt it was worth sharing our experience while still at the resort. We booked through TUI, as they offered a good selection of adults-only resorts in Cancun. After booking, we realised that Royalton CHIC has a much livelier atmosphere and is more geared towards parties. We weren’t opposed to that and enjoy a lively environment, but upon arrival we immediately noticed that, given the time of year, many older US school and college students were already on summer break. We questioned whether some of the guests were actually over 18, as several appeared much younger. There seems to be a strong focus on this younger demographic, with heavy drinking encouraged throughout the day. We regularly saw guests visibly intoxicated by early afternoon, often behaving disruptively around the resort with little intervention from staff and seemingly limited supervision from parents. As different groups arrived and departed during our stay, it became clear that the resort caters heavily to large group bookings. As a result, the main pool area is often dominated by loud groups and party atmospheres. We have therefore spent most of our time on the beach, only using the pool occasionally to cool off. The sea has been under a red flag throughout our stay and has generally been unusable due to rough conditions and a constant influx of seaweed. To be fair, this is fairly typical for this time of year. If you’ve already booked and spending time in the sea is important to you, it may be worth considering a hotel further north of Cancun, where the water is often calmer and clearer. If booking this resort, we would recommend choosing a sea-view room. However, be aware that the balconies on non-sea-view rooms remain in direct sunlight until sunset, making them extremely hot and uncomfortable to use in the evenings. The hotel has rooms up to the 14th floor, so if you have a fear of heights, it may be worth requesting a lower floor in advance. We asked to move for our final few days but were quoted an additional $126 per night. The food has generally been of decent quality. However, several restaurants have been closed during our stay, and on one occasion we arrived for a confirmed reservation only to find the restaurant was not open, which was disappointing. Drinks and overall drink quality are average. Cocktails can be hit and miss depending on who is making them. The draft beer around the pool is often served warm, and the wine is also rarely chilled, so don’t be afraid to ask for ice. We actually booked this holiday primarily to celebrate a family birthday on Isla Mujeres, where we spent four nights before arriving here. In hindsight, I don’t think we would have enjoyed spending the full 10 nights at this resort. If you get the chance to visit Isla Mujeres, I highly recommend the Mayan Beach Club – the water there is absolutely stunning. Overall, we’ve had a great holiday and have enjoyed our time in Mexico. However, based on our experience, it is unlikely that we would choose to stay at Royalton CHIC Cancun
Show moreThis is not a 5 star hotel it’s a bit rough around the edges maybe a 4 star hotel, the food and drinks were very nice the staff were all amazing and friendly, if you like a quiet relaxing atmosphere keep away from here very lively ( noisy Americans) it’s was not a problem for us but some may not like it , it’s in a great position only 15 mins away from main centre for bars and nightlife
