    Poorly maintained. Lack of plugs. No air-conditioning expect the room lobby and main restaurant. May have had it in the bars but definitely was not working at the time of my stay. Staff do try but a massive problem in basic communication. Also a lack of service staff. Tables full off rubbish. Long waits for food and drinks. (That is not a reflection of the hard work the staff do. This is a management and training issue)

    Just came back from a weeks stay with a family of five - parents and teens + preteens. Our experience had a mixture of highs and lows. We booked two Superior Double Rooms with Garden View and Balcony. Upon arrival, the reception has told us that our rooms were in the same building, but not near each other at all. One was on the ground floor and the other at the very top of the same building. It was extremely inconvenient as we have a 12 year old who is dependent on us but had to be in a separate room. As well as this, we shared belongings in the same suitcases so it was a complete mess. The management at the reception initially told us that the next day they would be able to change the rooms to be more convenient as some other guests would be leaving. Despite what we booked, they gave us one spacious room that was a 3 sleeper and then a smaller 2 sleeper - just because there were 5 of us instead of 6 even though we paid for 6 bed spaces! The next day, the interaction for changing the rooms wasn't the smooth process I was expecting, I had to really put my foot down for them to stick to their word. Because of this, I didn't want to complain further about how we did not get the rooms we initially booked. We did end up getting two rooms on the ground floor next to each other which was very nice, with a peace offering of a bowl of fruit. Our stay so far was pretty decent until that last day... the day before our leave, we were informed at the reception that we needed to check out at 12pm and we would be able to get a room to shower and get dressed in later on on checkout day for 40 minutes. So my entire family spent our last day in the water, including my teenage daughters, under the assumption we would actually be getting the room to shower before leaving. However, when I went to the reception to give my 30 minute notice for a room, I was told that the management had changed the policy just that day, which was completely unfair on people who were told they would get a room to shower in. I stood my ground, but they would not budge and made it seem like a dead end, giving me ridiculous suggestions to shower outside and that the spa 'might' have a shower?! I took this further to Tui, and the Tui rep named Liubov was an absolute star! She argued our case towards the staff and after around 20 minutes, we finally got our room to shower in. It felt as though every legitimate request with a reception was an immediate no, and you had you to really drag your heels in to get anywhere at all with them - not five star customer service in my opinion! Overall, the hotel was very classy and nice, but the management and reception team do not give out a five star service.
