“Super experience for a good price”

The apartment was large and sufficiently well furnished, however, the lighting in the kitchen / dining room was insufficiant. The one and only member of staff was responsible for absolutely everything from welcoming new clients to solving technical problems, cleaning the apartments, pool and surrounding area, providing and washing linnen etc. As friendly and competent as she was, she was overwhelmed with work and did not have sufficient time to clean the apartment properly. The attitude to caring for the ecology in Cyprus generally is quite apalling, for example there was no faciliy for separating or dealing with paper, electrical goods, food waste, platics or glass rubbish in the apartment. On the positive side; the accommodation was comfortable, the equipment (oven, refridgerator, water-heating) worked well, the pool and surrounding area was excellent. The locality was perfect for us, quiet and in a beautiful area with excellent views. The limited number of available apartments ensured there was never over-crowding and we had many interesting conversations with the few neighbours we did have. The local facilities consist of a bus service every hour to Polis or to Paphos, a taverna with excellent British and Cypriot food. Polis is only ten minutes away, here one can shop and eat and enjoy the excellent oportunities to hike in the very extensive nature park. Shopping is best done here as the prices are much more reasonable than anywhere else especially the mini-supermarkets along the main roads which tend to be very expensive. Paphos, the main city of this region is 45 minutes drive with the bus. Here are all the facilities that one can expect of a small city. The historical sites are extensive and well worth visiting. The hikes along the coast are remarkably clean and picturesque. We even found a small secluded cove where we could swim completly alone. Car-hire is possible in every town almost on every street corner. One can rent everything from motorbikes to buggies to limousines to quads and off-road jeeps.
