Hotel staff was very friendly. Hotel needs a refurbish but was clean

The Smeraldo appears to be no longer used as a fully functioning Hotel. The rooms are used in the hotel but reception and meals are taken at the hotel Paul which is on the opposite side of the road. Having been dropped off on arrival at. Smeraldo we then had to go across to the Hotel pool to check in. Our room was on the ground floor with access to a small patio area with table and chairs and as it was east facing had morning sun. The room was basic but very clean and the standard of cleanliness generally was excellent. The small ensuite with walk-in shower had no tray to put shower gel shampoo in which there was a bit of a juggling act. However, shower pressure was good and towels changed regularly. In general, both the Hotel Paul and Smeraldo I used extensively by people travelling and using their own car. Most people would appear to be staying 3 to 4 days in the area so turnover within the Hotel is quite high. Our return transfer was booked for collection from Smeraldo but there is no facility for suitcase storage after checking out there and our cases had to be stored across at the Hotel Paul. This then meant that one of us had to go over to the Smeraldo to wait for the transfer pick up in order to tell them to go over to the Hotel Paul - not a very satisfactory process

Great garden room, views and access to the lake. Was not told until arrival no staff at the hotel, we had to go over the road to the main hotel

very basic room very small and cramped but clean

No facilities open had to use sister hotel across the road. Beds not very good Location was excellent
