Hote, groundsl and room beautiful. Buffets great. Ala carte restaurants had poor service and mediocre to bad food.

Show moreWe were extremely disappointed with our stay at what was advertised as a luxury five-star hotel in Punta Cana. While the resort grounds and facilities were beautiful, our room fell far below the standard we expected and significantly impacted our holiday. From the beginning of our stay, our room had several major faults. The air conditioning unit made an extremely loud, screeching noise throughout the night, making it very difficult to sleep. The toilet also repeatedly failed to flush properly, with water constantly running. Although maintenance attended several times during our stay, the problem would return after only one or two flushes, meaning it was never properly resolved. As a result of the faulty air conditioning and repeated disturbances, we experienced sleep deprivation for almost our entire 11-night holiday. Rather than enjoying a relaxing break, we spent much of our time reporting problems, waiting for maintenance, and repeatedly visiting the hotel reception, supervisors, managers, and the TUI representative in an attempt to have the issues resolved. One particularly disappointing incident occurred when I requested room service for 6:00 a.m. because I have diabetes and needed to eat before an excursion that departed before the buffet restaurant opened. Despite arranging this in advance, the food never arrived, causing unnecessary stress and inconvenience. The handling of our room issues was also unacceptable. Although the hotel informed us that the air conditioning required extensive repairs, they allowed us to remain in the faulty room for eight nights before telling us, at approximately 8:30 p.m. that evening, that we had to move rooms immediately. We were already dressed and preparing to go out for dinner and evening entertainment but instead had to return to our room, change into casual clothes, pack all of our belongings, move across to another room, and unpack again. This took up a large part of our evening, leaving us exhausted and forcing us to have an early night instead of enjoying the facilities we had paid for. Unfortunately, the problems continued in the new room. The telephone rang unexpectedly at 10:00 p.m., 1:30 a.m., and again at 1:44 a.m., waking us repeatedly and resulting in yet another sleepless night. Our final day was equally frustrating. The previous evening, we had arranged for our luggage to be collected from our room at 11:30 a.m., as our accommodation was located a considerable distance from reception. We were assured this had been arranged. However, nobody arrived. Concerned about missing our airport transfer, we were forced to carry all of our luggage ourselves across the resort in the blistering heat. Overall, during our 11-night stay, we endured approximately 10 nights of poor or severely disrupted sleep. Our holiday was not the relaxing luxury experience we had paid for but instead became stressful, exhausting, and dominated by ongoing complaints and repeated attempts to have basic room defects addressed. Perhaps most disappointing of all was the lack of any meaningful apology or acknowledgement from either the hotel management or the TUI representative. Considering the significant amount we paid for a luxury five-star holiday, the standard of accommodation and customer service was completely unacceptable. We experienced sleep deprivation, repeated room defects, failed service commitments, unnecessary inconvenience, and lost valuable holiday time dealing with problems that should never have occurred in a hotel of this standard.
Show moreEverthing from start to finish in the bahia principe escape ambar was amazing. Welcomed off the transport with welcome drinks and cool flannel due to being very warm weather. Would give 10/10 across the board , rooms were very nice and spacious, maid and room service fantastic. Great entertainment at the pool throughout the day . Restaurant staff very welcoming.
