It was cheap and nasty - very noisy next to a main road when I specifically asked for quiet we had coaches doing pick ups and drop offs every day and night into the early hours - the bed was uncomfortable there was no air con

Although we were told we were getting a free upgrade, the rooms were spacious but the beds were uncomfortable and too high with a wooden edge which bruised the backs of my legs getting out. I’m 54 and do bruise easily to be fair-great for young ones who are agile 😏There was nowhere to hang towels, the accommodation smelt of bleach and in fact I put my flannel down on the shelf by the bath and it got bleach patches on it. I didn’t complain as it didn’t seem worth spoiling the holiday good will with staff for a flannel. We did get a really good size balcony which was great to sit on in the evening. The room was a bit basic and ‘patched up’. The food was very tasty.

We booked 9 nights at the Zante Plaza Hotel and Apartments in Laganas. Arrived to be told that our room had been upgraded to a family room, we had already booked a superior room, was then taken to the family room. Upon entering the room, the front door didn't close properly and rattled with a big gap all around it, the room smelt of damp, upon checking the bathroom, the door handle was covered in rust, the sealant around the shower and units was filthy dirty, when we turned on the tap in the sink ants came out of it, the shower control ********** and tap on the sink were so corroded we didn't want to touch them. The shower curtain was covered in mould as was the cubical. We tried to run the shower and when we did, all the water came up from the drain and flooded the bathroom, which also stank it out. There were stains on the sheets and the floor was slippery like it had sun cream on it and then there was also sand in one area of the floor. The fridge didn't work and was stained and dirty inside and on top of it. This was all within the first hour of being there. We went to reception to complain about the condition of the room and asked to be moved, Rose on reception was quite rude and just turned around and said there was nothing he could about it today and to return the following morning. We then asked about the air conditioning and how to get it working, Rose replied you have to pay for it and it is 9 euro's per night, we were not told about this when we booked the holiday! We then asked if we could have the air con for the night, Rose said no, we have to pay for the full duration of the holiday up front, we decided against paying it as we didn't know if we would be staying at the hotel for more than one night. We ended up sleeping with cold wet towels over us to keep us cool for that night. The bed was broken, the slightest movement and it creaked and the mattress was very hard. The next morning we were in reception at 9am, to be told to come back at 11am to view other rooms, the woman on reception wasn't happy about us complaining and rolled her eyes at us. She eventually showed us another room, which was slightly better so we accepted it after having no other choice as this was all that was available. The food was basic and most of the dishes were cold. The theme nights, Greek, Italian and Mexican, were the same food, just with different names given to the dishes. The whole hotel is very dated, broken tiles around the pool, sunbeds that are falling apart. Overall, the holiday was ruined and very disappointing. It is meant to be a 3 star hotel, I would struggle to give it one star. This should be taken off of your website! We always book with Tui, but after this experience we are dubious about booking through Tui again and feel that we should be compensated for this awful experience of a so called holiday.

We were placed in a room that had many issues with the basic things inside. We paid for air con (which is ridiculous anyway) and it was not working properly on our first night. I tried to get moved on the day we arrived but was sent away to try again the morning after, we did managed to get our room switched but it had inconvenienced us. Pools were both very small and breakfast and dinner selection was limited. However there were a couple good themed cuisine nights. Overall it seemed to be all inclusive priced but not actually with much benefit to us paying that much extra as we felt we had to eat out most days due to the poor quality of some food
