So clean. Great food, great kids facilities

Hotel was lovely, spotless and in an excellent location. Our room was very spacious and clean. Two things let this hotel down, the variety of food on offer. Often at meal times, plates and dishes in the restaurant were empty. No proper cheese or crackers were available, only cheese slices and mini breadsticks. Wine was offered some nights but had run out on others and was not replenished. In our opinion, the entertainment programme focused mainly on children. The 9pm entertainment was good a couple of nights but not so good the rest of the time. It finished abruptly at 10pm every evening with no background music. I appreciate that this hotel is popular with families and is in a residential area, but we feel that this could have ran slightly later. The entertainment team need to cater for their audience more as there was quite a few couples/families staying there without children. Some of the entertainment team either didn’t really engage with the guests or seemed awkward when doing so. Therefore, for the reasons given we will not be returning to this hotel.

“Ein paradiesisch schöner Urlaub bei Eden Lago”

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Woche im Hotel Eden Lago verbracht und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Unser Apartment mit separatem Schlafzimmer war sehr gepflegt und geräumig. Die Hotelanlage in neuem Gestaltung mit Whirlpool, balinesischen Betten und neuem zweiten Pool hat uns super gefallen. Als Verpflegung haben wir Halbpensionplus gebucht und waren damit super zufrieden. Vor allem das vielfältige Frühstücksbuffet war hervorragend. Die frischen Säfte und frischgepressten Gemüseshots waren unsere Favoriten, super gesund und wahnsinnig lecker☺️ Und beim Abendessen fanden wir die liebevoll dekorierten Salate, Käseplatte und kleinen leckeren Desserts als Delikatessen. Hauptgerichte haben uns nicht überzeugt aber eigentlich ist das Meckern auf hohem Niveau. An diese Stelle ein herzliches Dankeschön an das fleißige Küchen personal. Eigentlich alle Mitarbeiter des Hotels waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Unser besonderer Lob geht an die super sympathische Mitarbeiterin des Empfangs AINA- herzlichen Dank für alles. First issue: We booked self catering at the Viva Eden Lago in Alcudia as we prefer to do our own thing and not be tied to restaurant meal times, whilst the room allocated at the hotel contained a kettle, coffee percolator, toaster and microwave, no crockery or cutlery was provided and the only sink available to wash up in was the hand basin in the bathroom. Clearly the hotel is not set up for self catering - it's a half hearted attempt which could lead to accusations of false advertising being levelled, this really should be addressed by TUI and made clear on the app and booking forms prior to accepting any future bookings. Second issue: Unfortunately, we were plagued by mosquitos all week and whilst we were aware that Alcudia had this problem when we booked the holiday, we didn't expect it to be quite so bad. The strange thing was that the majority of the encounters actually happened inside our room (not outside!), this occurred during the night and was experienced even though we religiously kept the balcony doors closed at all times. Somehow, (and we never quite discovered how?) they still managed to get into the room and many nights of disrupted sleep were suffered. It's quite unnerving to wake up and hear them whining around your head in the middle of the night and this happened even though the room was thoroughly checked prior to turning out the light, needless to say multiple bites were suffered by us both - clearly, this has been a long term problem which is evident from the blood stains and mosquito remnants on the walls and ceiling caused by previous occupants suffering the same. It should also be noted that on a couple of occasions, a number of small light brown ants were witnessed crawling along the sofa bed, although these didn't cause us the same problems that the mosquitos did. The issues identified above did spoil our holiday somewhat and we were really pleased to get home (very tired!). We've flown to Cala Bona and Cala d'Or in recent years with TUI had thoroughly enjoyed both of those holidays but having experienced what we did in Alcudia, I think it's safe to assume that we will never return.
