    The actual hotel room was very small and basic and the balcony was very small. The bathroom was very nice

    Hotel gave us a mixed feeling...........Some Front desk staff very patronising, treating me like I was a child. We were very suprised and frustrated when entering to hotel room to find no kettle (we both have to have a hot drink as we wake up) I returned to reception and asked why no kettle to be told that as I was only half board no kettle is provided. TBH at first I laughed because this made us feel like second class as we hadnt chosen the most expensive option ( look at them theyre only half board, low life) Then I was told I could have a kettle but there was a charge. TBH this angered me, not because of the charge but the fact it came across th Vik wanted to extract every last penny out of us. This was on the first day or so which didnt make us feel satisfied customers. I agreed to kettle charge (had no choice) One was sent up a bit later. At least we could have hot drink.......The kettle didnt work! Off I went to reception and calmly explained. The lady said give 15 mins and another would be sent. A few houes later a second kettle arrived......this did work but didnt switch itself off when boiling (could of been dangerous) I know this might seem petty but a hot drink in the morning is a must for us! I have never stayed in a hotel 3 star 4 star or 5 star that didnt provde a kettle. I even ran all this past Andrea the Tui rep.....she said \" It doesnt state a kettle is provided in the hotel description\" ( oh my LOL) Overall the Vik is ok......some staff seem to think The Vik is the Ritz, right up themselves....its a 3 star in my humble opinion bit tired and dated. The food for mass catering was very good for sure (obviously we only had breakfast and evening meal as only half board) but we did quite often spend our money in the hotel swiming pool bar for lunch! It was our choice to go half board as we cant always eat three meals a day and that fact that a kettle wasnt provide because of that really doesnt sit right with us! I also wanted to watch the F1 while staying but the VIK (4 star) didnt have the sports chanel reqiured. I may seem petty but because of this and some (a few) staff we most likely wouldnt stay here again!

    Great hotel in a prime position. Room lovely & clean. Great pool area Food really good & good choice only downside were the sweets, empty trays at times & not enough nice little cakes Staff very good in all areas
