    Es war ein 50 Jahre altes Hotel das in einem sehr guten Zustand war. Überall sauber, keine großen sichtbaren Schäden. Auch der Pool, die Aufzüge waren in einem vernünftigen Zustand.

    Staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. Would highly recommend a massage at the spa, it was brilliant. Food was great and rooms were always left clean.

    We booked this holiday to Madeira with TUI to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We specifically chose the adults-only Madeira Gardens Hotel for its peaceful location, but on arrival we discovered that major refurbishment work was taking place. We had not been notified beforehand, despite the TUI representative claiming otherwise. Had we known the extent of the work and noise, we would have chosen a different hotel. We also have video evidence demonstrating the disruption. This seriously affected our special anniversary holiday. We would like TUI to explain when and how it claims we were notified and to offer appropriate compensation for the loss of enjoyment.

    We were told prior to going on holiday that there was construction work taking place on a site behind the hotel and given the option to change the holiday but we decided to go ahead. What we were not told about was construction work taking place in the hotel, 33% of the hotel was closed for this work which was at the front of the hotel overlooking the pool and garden bar areas. The hotel also closes totally for refurbishment at the end of august. I have taken this up with customer services but they are insinuating that I’m lying and that I was told about the work. Yes I was told about the work behind the hotel but not the work in the hotel. I’m too late to cancel TUI holidays I have booked in September and October but I will be cancelling the holiday I have booked in May 2027. My cancellation is because I’m being called a liar and offered no apology or compensation
