    Recommended

    Everything else was great however we found that the food let it down as bit and we found ourselves going out of the hotel to eat even though we were all inclusive

    For a 5 star hotel it lacked a lot of things. No self service in the resort for water, soft drinks or alcohol, not even in buffet restaurant, quite a long wait for water some days in restaurants. Food in restaurants was lovely but all luke warm. Rooms looks nice, but on closer inspection require maintenance. Bathrooms needs freshening up, tiles around bath & in toilet cubicle dirty, mouldy. Floor tiles all stained & marked from furniture. Cream leather sofa, & chairs marked & tacky. No self service soft drinks, water, beer in the resort, even in buffet restaurant, quite a wait for water some days. Lack of places to get a snack or drink during the day.

    The room is well overdue an upgrade/renovation, the cupboard doors wouldn’t close and made a lot of noise when moved, the drawers wouldn’t open and close properly. The Air Conditioning was blowing but not cooling when brought to the attention of customer service they sent an engineer who said it was working the to it’s full efficiency considering how the system works (this turned out to be a fob off from a lazy maintenance worker) we suffered for a further couple of days then complained again, they sent a different maintenance engineer who after 5 minutes said that the internal fan and associated equipment needed replacing and would take a couple of hours. We were asked to leave for a couple of hours whilst it was repaired, agreed and the A C worked great for the remainder of the vacation. We were fobbed off initially and had to suffer for nearly a week with poor AC.

    Quality of food poor, the steakhouse in particular was awful. Never went back. The hotel only offered one type of house red, if you didn’t like it you had to buy bottles at an additional cost. The hotel appeared tired and the pool floors were rough, everyone we spoke to cut their feet. The bowling only had 2 lanes open, which made it almost impossible to get to play. The spotless bar was closed for the majority of our stay, when it opened (last 3 days of holiday only for the first told cup) it closed early, on 2 occasions we went up at midday and it had closed, despite it advertising to be open until 1am and showing the late games. Both was ill during the holiday, everyone we spoke to had been poorly. Reported issues to rep on day 2 and asked to move, had to chase him up 2 days later, when we advised it was poor we had to follow up, he said he had been off for 2 days. Very poor! Would not recommend the hotel and would not return. This was our 4th visit to Mexico and do not feel this hotel is 5star.
