The hotel was newly renovated, and the were no issues with the room, it was clean and all the towels were brand new, and the layout/beds looked new. So I would have given the accommodated a 4/5 if it wasn't for the customer service. We arrived after being a bit flustered about the hotel, and if it still existed, because it had changed from an kyriad hotel to Ibis. I managed to workout using google maps when booking a taxi that this was 'hopefully' the case and not that the hotel just didn't exist anymore. The lack of communication of this was stressful start of our holiday. When we arrived we were not greeted with a Bonjour, only \"name\" and \"3 nights?\" Then the receptionist went into the back room for 10 minutes while we stood wondered what was going on, he returned stood and looked at the computer for a bit then just hand us a room key. No communicating where the lifts were, no asking us for confirmation, or passports for identification, or the usual curtesy you would expect from a hotel reception. Then upon departure we dropped our card key off, and the receptionist then accused us of not paying, and asked to see evidence of the money coming out of our bank account! I didn't feel comfortable showing my bank account app to a stranger, plus the payment was made 6 months ago. I gave the receptionist a printed copy of my booking confirmation stating that the balance was £0, as it had been paid, and he then said that I would need to email this across to prove it. I have done so, and also not received any further correspondence from the hotel, or an apology for being accused of not paying in the first place. The guy was not going to let us leave, and it was 4am in the morning!
