Have a sea view room if possible. My city room was fine in itself overlooking the square but noisy at times
Show moreAmazing hotel staff - from housekeeping to bar & waiting staff. All worked hard to ensure guests had an excellent experience. Staff of note: David - Entertainment: full of energy and very funny! Jaime & Miguel - waiters: excellent, attentive service throughout.

Show moreWe have stayed here previously without any real issues, but on this occasion we had a few small things that when added up, left us feeling let down by the Hotel. First night we relayed concerns of a sewer smell coming from our bathroom, we let reception know and a cleaner checked it out and I believe they cleaned the bathroom area, but the smell came and went over the next few days, leading to a change of room offer, which we declined as the room location was, in our opinion not suitable, the next day I noticed the WC was loose i.e. not bolted to the floor, relayed to cleaning staff and they immediately contacted reception who in turn had maintenance visit us and within a couple of hours it was remedied, no more lingering smells, we felt that if it had been investigated properly it would have been fixed on the first day, not five days in. The other issue related to a formal complaint I made to the Hotel regarding noise levels coming from the poolside bar, where a wedding reception was booked by an outside party, our room looks directly onto the poolside bar and the noise level was far in excess of any legal permitted level in a working area for here in the UK, I have a video taken to record the levels experienced, we initially thought it would calm down but after about an hour we left our room, relayed our feelings at reception, to which I was told it was agreed that the wedding could play the music at these levels, I advised that it was unacceptable for hotel guests to be exposed to that level of unwanted noise, also I asked who was responsible for ensuring guests were comfortable? there was no response to that question, we advised that we couldn't stay in our room, due to the noise level, and were heading out for a walk in the hope that it calmed down after a while, when we came back after an hour or more, reception staff recognised us and called us over to offer us a room on the opposite side of the building, the room was on offer for the whole night, we went to view and sat on the balcony for a while and by the time we had dinner and returned to our room around 10.30 ish the wedding had ended, therefore we did not use the other room, which wasn't that practical as all our personal things were in our own room, I took ill that night with a stomach bug so never seen staff till two days after the event (Saturday - Monday) where i relayed to staff that I would like to raise a formal complaint re the noise issue, it was dealt with poorly in my opinion as they never got to a point where they actually came up with any meaningful response to my complaint ( why that level of noise was deemed acceptable - when it clearly upset their guests) I relayed this to reception staff on the morning we checked out as I only received the copy of complaint an hour before we left, at which point I noted they had evaded answering the question / issue raised. So it left a sour taste of an otherwise nice holiday. I have a video of noise level should you require it. I can say with confidence that this would never have been allowed in any chain of a UK hotel, this was in my opinion a real disregard for their patrons and therefore TUI's good name, being tarnished by this hotels action or non-action in this case. I would add the staff were courteous at all times, just totally ineffective. I intend to relay the above in my review of the Son Baulo. Regards Anthony Leitch.
