Show moreIt was fantastic. Right on the beach with a beautiful view of the ocean. It was cleaned every day by a lovely man called Mohamed. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.

Show moreWe were last there 2 years ago and whilst it’s still lovely, this time the experience didn’t feel as amazing. I was disappointed that in 24 hours there were 5 power cuts that only seemed to affect our block (we were in room 172). This was made worse by the fact that it happened in the evening, so we literally couldn’t see anything. This was not helped by the fact that we couldn’t contact reception (the room phones and wifi were down) and we were at the furthest point of the Palace side, so I had to go and find someone who didn’t seem to be aware that there was an issue. The next time this happened when I tried to find someone, I was told that it was sorted and had to tell him that it wasn’t and the rest of the times I just waited as couldn’t go out because we were either getting ready to go out or to bed, so were in a state of undress. When we went to reception the following day, they couldn’t explain what had caused the issue. We had planned to upgrade to an over the water villa for the second week but didn’t then as we didn’t want to encounter any further disruptions to the electricity, however I was surprised that they didn’t initially offer to move us to another room anyway (especially as they were hardly at full occupancy and we know that when we arrived our room had been changed from the one we were originally assigned - we were told we were upgraded to a king size room but it looked the same as the room we had on our previous stay). If we hadn’t already decided to go to an over the water villa I would have insisted we were moved, so that experience put a dampener on the start of the holiday, which was a shame as we were really looking forward to returning. We had previously recommended it to everyone but I wouldn’t do that again as it didn’t match up to our last visit and given that we paid over £8000, everything should have been perfect.
