tolle fast schon subtropische Gartenlandschaft, alles sehr gepflegt.
Show moreIN het algemeen zeer tevreden .
Show more03.03.2024: Too shady and outdated Recommended by our travel agent (TUI), my wife and I (69/70) stayed 14 nights during late February 2024, at this 5 star resort, a member of „Leading Hotels of the World“, located on the so-called „ Golden Mile“. We booked a „Junior Suite Garden View“, on B&B basis (half-board was not offered). Reason for stay: short winter break with warmth and sunny walks next to the sea. Hotel has a good location, equidistant (3,5km) from Port Banus and Marbella Port, ideal for walking along the beach promenade, when there’s no wind, warm and sunny. Rooms are outdated, furniture looks used and quite stained (red wine) in some places. We stayed in room S11 initially, but this was too cold, no sun and no view (foliage covered wall). We complained, and were promptly and professionally given a complimentary upgrade to W31. This is a larger suite with a better view, but limited sunshine, old fashioned water faucets, shower with mould beginning on the walls, constant bad smell from the (shower) drain filled the room. Restaurants: overpriced and with no easily accessible alternative restaurants nearby. Children who are not accompanied by a parent at the buffet, often mess up the presentation of food, or inadvertently let fruit or butter fall onto the floor; restaurant personnel slow to wipe up. Environment: no complimentary water dispensers to refill personal water bottles (massive use of plastic bottles). No optional retention or change of bath towels or bed-linen. Considering the drought in the region (water-rationing already in February!), it’s a waste of resources, when it takes ages for warm water to come through the old water pipes. Hygiene: Wild birds constantly fly in and peck at the breakfast buffet in the main restaurant “Sea Grill” (despite complaint, no remedy). No serviettes at the bread counter, so guests tend to hold the bread loaves with their bare hands, which is disturbingly unhygienic. Service: well-meaning, helpful, friendly, but we felt the reception and check-out only offer lip-service to complaints. Summary: Disappointing experience at a 5 star member of „Leading Hotels of the World“. Good 5-star resort, especially in summer months, however too shady and cold in February (Canary Islands are warmer). For our next break in winter, we‘ll go for 4 – 5 star hotel with easy access to local cafes and restaurants, a sunny disposition with warm rooms and a good heating system, clean furniture and modern bathrooms, more attention to hygiene and environmental considerations.
