Hotel is old and bedroom is basic. A Twin superior room, as booked was not allocated or available, we were offered an attic room but our booking was for a superior room which we did not get. The hotel is being upgraded and it does need it, but...the hotel staff are so good it made everything alright. Cleaners were very good, Food was much better than we expected, traditional Swiss food and menu with great waiters and the Hotel grows on you. Its location is in the center of the Village and buses very close and trains not far away, these are usual Swiss high standard and run on time, clean and makes getting around easy. Wilderswil is a fantastic place to be with easy access to both Mountains and Interlaken. A good holiday.

Great location as it was only 10 min walk to Wilderswil train station and less than a minute walk to the bus stop. Room itself was clean, had balcony with chairs, clean washroom and had a fan as it was super hot

Lovely Swiss chalet experience, food was great and beds & room very comfortable. The only thing I would say let down the accommodation was the bathroom - esp the shower. Although clean it was old, vinyl on the walls which in some places had been repaired with a piece totally a different colour, places where things had been screwed on the wall and filled & it was scruffy & outdated. It needed retilling, and a new suite. Also outside needed a paint job and I was frightened to open my shutters of the window or lean on the window sill to look at the Jungfrau in case the shutters or me landed in the street below. I know it was built in 1706 but it really does need some attention if they are to retain guests.

Traditional Swiss environment but well-equipped room- kettle, fridge, hairdryer,fan, balcony, and views. Friendly staff, good service, good food. Good access to free local public transport and wider access to many attractions.

The hotel is very Swiss, which is what we wanted. However we were told that this might change when new owners take over for 2027
