    “Super zum Entspannen”

Das Hotel war sehr angenehm, ruhig und friedlich. Besonders schön fanden wir die kinderfreundliche Atmosphäre, wodurch man sich rundum wohlgefühlt hat.

We recently stayed at Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa, having previously experienced other Hilton resorts in destinations such as Hawaii and Bora Bora. With that in mind, we arrived with a clear understanding of the level of service and experience typically associated with the Hilton brand. The hotel itself is undeniably beautiful. The grounds, rooms and communal areas are extremely well maintained, and the setting is stunning. However, while the property has all the ingredients of a five-star resort, it lacks the consistency in service that truly defines five-star hospitality. At times, it felt as though the brand relies heavily on its global reputation rather than delivering a uniformly exceptional experience. Staff - The majority of the staff were outstanding - attentive, warm, and genuinely invested in getting to know our family and making our stay special. Several team members went above and beyond, and their efforts should absolutely be recognised such as Kepal (Sunset Bar) and the wonderful and kind Nepalese gentleman (his name has slipped my mind at this moment) who cleaned our room during our stay - Victoria and Rosat Blocks. Unfortunately, there is also a noticeable group of staff whose service levels fell well below that standard. The inconsistency is significant enough that it detracts from the excellent work of the stronger team members. Dining - Buffet (Breakfast & Dinner) - The buffet offering was on the smaller side, with somewhat limited choice. That said, the rotating theme nights helped prevent repetition, and the food was consistently well cooked and flavourful. We particularly loved the Mauritian night. My father is Mauritian, and it was wonderful to see authentic dishes that we recognise and eat at home — a genuine highlight of the trip. A special mention goes to Sous-Chef Catherine, who went above and beyond for us and our children. That level of care made a real difference, she and her team were consistenly thoughtful and was hugely appreciated. However, we were surprised by the lack of child-friendly options overall. Simple staples such as plain pasta, chicken nuggets, pizza and basic vanilla ice cream were unavailable. À La Carte Restaurants - Ginger Thai – The food was delicious and beautifully prepared. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by inattentive service. Kesari – Excellent food and attentive staff. The only downside was the large number of flies, insects and lizards, which did detract from an otherwise strong dining experience. Coquillages – This was, regrettably, the biggest disappointment of the stay. Service at Coquillages was consistently slow and lacking awareness. Staff often appeared disengaged, orders were incorrect, drinks took up to 45 minutes, and food over an hour — despite the restaurant being very quiet on several evenings. We frequently had to chase staff to place additional orders or to check on delayed items. We raised these issues with management on multiple occasions, but the service did not improve across our 12-night stay. This was especially frustrating as Coquillages is the only venue serving food between breakfast and dinner. Guests on full board or all-inclusive packages would understandably feel extremely disappointed. We were relieved to have opted for half board. Facilities - The pools, spa and gym facilities were all excellent and very much in keeping with five-star expectations. Entertainment - We understood that entertainment would be light, which is absolutely fine for this style of resort. However, on a few evenings, the choice of songs and overall tone of the live performers brought down the atmosphere rather than enhancing it. A slightly broader programme of light performances or curated evening entertainment would elevate the experience — particularly given that Coquillages is the primary evening venue. Another note to add would be to provide a full information booklet/app about the hotel, services, restaurants, providing all the finer (step by step) details would be much appreciated - as well as a guide to Mauritius and the nearby area of Flic en Flac. The information currently is too light and needs to be wrote in the mind of someone who has never stayed at this resort/island. In summary, this is a beautiful resort with many excellent staff members and some genuinely standout moments. However, the inconsistency in service — particularly in key dining areas — prevents it from fully delivering on the five-star standard associated with the Hilton brand. With greater attention to consistency and guest experience, this hotel could easily match the high standards we have experienced at other Hilton properties around the world.

It was excellent! However, the online booking didn't make it clear whether we had a Kingsize bed or a twin room. Trying to upgrade to a Kingsize was too expensive at the hotel so we settled with the twin. There were 2 grades of room on the online check in (about the same price) and we didn't know clearly which was which. This was the only issue.
