Hotel on arrival appeared clean, cool, welcoming and very helpful on reception (young lady attended us). Check in was okay, our room was not ready. We were given out all inclusive wrist bands and attended the bar for some refreshments. The soft drinks were good and the cocktails were strong but good. Once our room was ready, the bellboy took our cases and pointed using the right direction. We were allocated one of the rooms within the external building (the bungalows I believe they call it). Allocated a room on the third floor (I had requested a low level and quiet room due to accessibility issues and mental health conditions within the party), lift accessed. On first impressions it was okay, the room was spacious although the bathroom is dated and displays a lot of grime within the shower cubicle. The sliding doors to the balcony did not lock closed, resulting in the air conditioning not working. Only one plug socket within the room worked. We requested assistance from Reception who issued a technician to the room. On attendance there was a barrier between communication due to the technician not speaking English, I used translation on my phone to help us through the issue. During inspection, the complete locking section of the sliding doors came off into his hands. He told me someone would be out tomorrow to sort it, leaving us with unlockable balcony doors, in addition, the front door couldn't be locked from the inside either. After travelling and being out of routine for my mother, we returned to our room around 8pm following something to eat, where we were greeted by exceptionally loud music and entertainment that went on until 11pm. My mother has Bi-polar and is diagnosed with residual schizophrenia. Routine is paramount to here, something I have always found Tui and Tui hotels to cater perfectly well over the last 18 years of travelling with them. My mother couldn't rest, couldn't relax, found her mood was quickly spiraling. I managed to stay up with her for the first night, raising my concerns through the Tui app, which was promptly dealt with. I attended reception the next day, was offered to view two different rooms and relocate to the one of my parties choice. The room we relocated in was within the main hotel building. On first impressions it was okay, it was spacious again not the cleanest room with some residual dust around the floor, around the wardrobe space and grime within the shower cubicle again. The doors locked which was a good indication, although I did forget to check the plug sockets prior to taking the room, turns out most of the sockets within the rooms we were allocated didn't work. Boiling he kettle by the side of the bed. The air con didn't work, it only produced warm air. We were sleeping with the balcony doors open (it was quieter from disruption, although the road noise is something we got used too) to make sure we stayed cool. The shower blocked the first night we used it, I raised it with Reception who had arranged to have this looked at during the evening. On return to the room, the shower had been sorted but the dirty boot prints within the shower cubicle and all over the foot rug wasn't the best welcome back. Communicating in English is a struggle for hotel staff here, very little English spoken making communicating with staff difficult. We found that a very small percentage of staff we seen at the hotel wanted to make any contact, smile or even wave. The hotel is heavily occupied by Russian and German visitors which is very evident within the food hall. By day three my mother was unable to attend the buffet restaurant due to the smell of veg during breakfast, lunch and dinner. I can appreciate all different nationalities have different requirements, but it was very, very limited for catering any English guests, unless you liked chips and pancakes for breakfast, chips and pizza for lunch and chips and pizza or chicken for dinner. We spent a considerable amount of money eating out each night. The location of the hotel is welcoming, plenty of shops within walking distance regardless if you turn left or right out of the hotel, although be prepared to be 'jumped' on by the locals to attend their shop to purchase something, or be followed around the shop like the main suspect. I didn't attend the hotel spa, for the main reason of being hounded the first day i placed myself on the sunbed. I asked politely and said maybe another day, it was our first day and this was not an acceptable answer. The chap proceeded to sit on the end of my mothers sun lounger asking if she wanted a massage, showing her leaflets and how he would discount anything she wanted. I asked again, if he would come another day to see us, which he ignored. He wasn't aggressive but very, very pushy! The maid who attended our room on the last but one day was outstanding. She was pleasant, welcoming and done a outstanding job on cleaning our room, best job of the holiday by far. She changed out towels, something you had to request prior, she changed our sheets, something that wasn't done until this cleaning visit (even though it was requested). The safe in the room worked for the first attempt and then refused any code, so we just took valuables with us at all times. Having to relocate our belongings to one room had already caused considerable upset within my party, so having to request this again would have not been worth staying. I managed to make it comfortable enough for my mother with reassurance for us to except the second rooms' standard for the remaining 6 nights. The pool area was cleaned every morning, although every day I found the further back from the pool the floor was dirty, the sun beds had used and discarded cigarettes and cigarette buds on them and bins were full and crawling with ants (right next to the water fridges). The sunbeds were mouldy with visible damp on them, the umbrellas around the pool side were broken with spokes sticking out, again with visible mould and damp on them. The pool tiles became extremely hazardous when wet. I witnessed 4 children falling and hurting themselves during my stay, one taking a considerable knock to the head. I am really flattened to report a negative review, something I have never done during my time travelling with Tui. It's a hotel I will never return to, but Turkey being a country I thought was beautiful. I am disappointed that Tui have rated this hotel at 4*, something I think needs to be reviewed on a urgent basis so that further guests are not mislead into booking something they may not be expecting. To make it all a little more heartbreaking, this was the holiday following our wedding, something we classed as our mini moon (honeymoon is something we hope to experience within the next two years following care implementation for my mother, I am her soul carer), something my wife and I felt was spoilt by the disappointment of the hotel.
