    Our stay at Grand Palladium White Sands Riviera Maya was disappointing and did not meet our expectations of a 5-star resort. The most significant issue was the severe sargassum seaweed affecting the beach throughout much of our stay. We paid extra to upgrade to a beach-access villa, specifically for direct access to the beach and sea, but this upgrade offered very little value as the beach was largely unusable, the smell from the seaweed was noticeable, and two beachfront restaurants were closed due to the conditions. We also experienced several accommodation issues. On arrival, we were allocated the wrong room type and given a twin room instead of the room booked, requiring us to move rooms the following day. The toilet seat in our room was broken for the duration of our stay and was never repaired despite this being a basic maintenance issue. A further concern was food hygiene and health standards. My partner became seriously unwell with severe stomach issues during the holiday, which affected our ability to fully enjoy our trip. During our stay, we observed buffet food sitting at lukewarm temperatures, sauces not being properly chilled, and flies around food service areas, which raised concerns about food safety. Finally, we found some reception staff to be dismissive and unhelpful when dealing with issues we raised. Whilst there were many hardworking staff elsewhere in the resort and the grounds were attractive, the overall experience fell significantly short of what we expected from a resort advertised and sold as 5-star accommodation.

    This is a wonderful complex.....we stayed at White sands so had access to most of the a la.cartes...good was wonderful as was service.. All staff worked VERY hard and were just so professional , courteous and pleasure to deal with.. They had to tolerate some divas in their working day...butnstill handles it with the utmost grace andbprofessionalism .There is so much happening here's lots to do and can take or leave the busy...overall resort was quiet and serene...loved the.live music round the pool...our pop butler Diego waa outstanding.. as were many m of the staff !!

    Due to lower numbers things were closed to eatvand drink,asbwe were lower end but still paid good money we were treated differently,feot oike an 18/30 holiday
