    We booked a return visit to this hotel as it is where we met 20 years ago. On arrival the Receptionist gave us the bare minimum of information, she omitted to tell us that we had to pay a €10 returnable deposit for the safe key and she didn’t tell us the sunbeds on the beach were free to use and Reception could give us towels. There was no warm welcome or mention of our anniversary although they did leave a bottle of wine in the room and a bowl of fruit. Housekeeping didn’t give us clean glasses or cups at any point after first use. The air conditioning didn’t work. There was a broken exposed wire above the balcony door so I assume the system thought the door was open. Morning and night we had to ask Reception to over ride the system and turn it on. The third time I asked, the Receptionist asked if we really needed it on? It was 35 degrees! The bathroom constantly smelt of sewage and the shower tray was grubby. The cleaner on two occasions left our patio window and mosquito screen open which as we were on the first floor wasn’t very good from a security point of view and it also meant the room was sweltering when we returned from a day out. One day the cleaner took our one and only loo roll, when we complained, the following day she left 4?! The buffet food was just ok but never hot, it was always luke warm which was a worry in the excessive heat. The staff on Reception and the Restaurant were unfriendly and unhelpful. Most of the Restaurant staff were totally miserable. The man in the on site shop, the men in the bar and the entertainment man could give them a lesson in customer service.

    Lovely hotel, staff were mostly excellent. Dining could be better. Great location but not many bars or places to eat around it
