“Great Resort Experience, but Let Down by TUI Flights and Hotel Management Flaws”

Flight & Airline Experience (TUI) Seating Allocation: Traveling as a family with our 14-month-old daughter, TUI randomly assigned my husband and me to separate seats in different rows. When I called customer service, I was told it was my fault for not booking seats 30 days in advance. In the age of modern tech and AI, booking systems should automatically seat families together. To make matters worse, the onboard crew offered zero assistance in helping us adjust our seating once on the plane. Cabin Crew Attitude: The cabin crew on both flights was very rude and showed a complete lack of empathy for parents with young children. Parents weren't even allowed to stand near the back galley to soothe restless toddlers because the crew claimed they were \"too busy preparing service\" and that it was \"unsafe\"—despite parents taking up virtually no space. Children are a standard part of air travel; if crew members lack the patience or tolerance for families, they may want to consider a different line of work. Grounds & Accommodation The hotel features a huge, beautiful, and lush green territory. The long stretch of beach feels very exclusive, as it isn't easily accessible to non-hotel guests, which was a huge plus! Our room was clean and spacious, with an unexpected sea view that was a wonderful bonus. Hotel Staff & Service The hotel team was incredibly kind and welcoming, especially towards children. They constantly smiled and interacted warmly with our 1-year-old daughter—she absolutely loved the attention! Dining & Restaurants Buffet: Great variety with live cooking stations offering fresh meat, fish, pasta, and eggs for breakfast. Every evening featured a fun theme with extra food outdoors (Mexican, Dominican, Mediterranean). While the meat was occasionally overcooked/tough, there was always plenty of choice, including an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables. A-la-Carte Restaurants: We had 4 reservations during our 1-week stay. While the ambiance was lovely, the food felt quite similar to the buffet. We were disappointed with Breeze (the Greek salad was off-mark, the seafood pasta was overly salty with shell fragments, and the tiramisu was identical to the buffet's). However, La Costa was nice as it offered some options that were not available in the buffet, though the food itself was just okay. Snack Bar & Coffee Bar: The snack bar offered burgers, sausages, fries, and fresh pizza (a few healthy options would be a nice addition). The Coffee Bar was a true highlight of our stay—a massive variety of fresh coffee available from super early until late at night! Entertainment & Kids Club Activities: Excellent all-day entertainment, from painting workshops to morning stretching and dancing. Kids Club: The hours were actually quite weird. It was scheduled from 10:00 to 17:00, but closed at 11:30 for lunch until 14:30. Right after lunch, the staff would simply close the Kids Club so they could go chill on the beach themselves! There were almost never any kids there whenever we visited, which might explain why they did it, but it was still strange that staff could just decide on their own when to close. When we asked if the facility could stay open for us, they declined, so we didn't really get to use it. Resort Areas for Improvement Baby Crib: We requested a crib in advance, but we had to wait 2 days for it as staff mentioned they weren't sure if one was available. For a family-focused hotel, this was surprising and significantly disrupted not only our baby’s sleep for the first two nights, but ours as well. Algae Management: July is peak algae season, but the beach cleaning efforts were quite slow and inefficient compared to what we hoped. Mosquitoes: Be prepared—mosquitoes are everywhere throughout the entire day, not just in the evenings! On top of that, our room had quite a few when we checked in, which meant daily hunting indoors as well. Packing a strong, high-quality mosquito repellent is an absolute must! 💡 Local Tip: If you walk left down the beach for about 20–30 minutes, you’ll reach San Pedro—a lovely little town with some nice shops to explore.
