    Would no longer recommend this hotel, it’s changed ownership and it’s just not the same level of service or facilities. The fact that other hotels can now use Akumals facilities is a joke, why have we paid over the odds for other hotels to get the same service. Really disappointed

    Previously described TUI need to work with the hotel management to get this hotel back up to previous standards. If changes have been made prior to departure inform travellers and give them the option to cancel or change

    We paid extra to stay in the Akumal section because it included app-bookable à la carte dining and enhanced access to facilities. On arrival, these benefits had been removed without any prior notice. The booking system had changed to first come, first served, only a few restaurants were open each night, and we only managed to eat at four à la carte restaurants during our two-week stay. We spent many evenings walking between hotels with young children, only to face long waits or be turned away and end up at the buffet, where the food quality was poor. Following the Hyatt takeover, all hotel sections had the same access, making the upgrade we paid for effectively worthless. We repeatedly complained during our stay, but the issues significantly affected our holiday and greatly reduced our enjoyment.

    Accommodation was absolutely amazing with no complaints besides than the sister hotels were allowed unlimited access to our pools and buffet and drinks even though we had paid the highest price
