    Fantastic staff at the resort. Food at the Asian restauarant was not the same standard as other restauarants. It was hard to get booked in to experience all the restauarants. The amphitheatre had only two meal options for dairy free so we did not eat there. Mini bar felt a bit poor as just lager and juices. Room was lovely but often not had tea and coffee re stocked by house keeping. Buffet did feel like it was the same food most days so more variety would have been welcomed. Having paid for an upgraded room being able to experience all the restaurants without issue would have been appreciated. Confusion in the mini bar. When taken to our room told first use was free. We used it several times and no charge at checkout. Given the cost to upgrade expect no mini bar charge but the team should be clear on this when taking guests to their room

    '- my son (17) was expected to sleep on a tiny sofa bed barely big enough for a small child - in an adults only hotel. It was completely unsuitable, v thin mattress and very noisy. - All the doors and windows rattled loudly in the wind disturbing sleep. - our shower control was broken and low water pressure meant we sometimes could not use it - we had a suite for three people but only one chair at the table (and a plethora of small occasional tables which took up space) - our private pool was filthy. Main pools also had dirty patches - our transfer took nearly three hours (advertised as 75 mins) and then the hotel left us waiting with drinks in the bar without asking us if we wanted them before conducting a VERY thorough check in meeting which meant we lost the very tiny part of the afternoon we had left after the stupidly long transfer. - À la carte restaurant bookings were very stressful and we didn’t get space in 2 of them. We then seemed to be on Asian Night in every restaurant… - the incline is so steep that you are reliant on the shuttle service - which bears no resemblance to the published timetable - on one occasion we waited 45 mins to go from the pool to our room. - literally no outside seating space in the evening and the main bar usually full so we went back to our one-chair room - very depressing - masses of wasps at mealtimes with no obvious attempts to deter them (honeycomb at breakfast very impressive but created a swarm all around the buffet) - Food was very average for an all inclusive- absolutely nowhere near 5 star. One lunchtime we ate pork souvlaki for lunch (pretty good) only for my husband to receive it again for dinner in the ‘premium’ Greco lavante restaurant as an Asian pork dish - we were least expecting leftovers for that meal. All the pools were freezing - with ordinary metal pool steps that were burning hot to touch - no gentle steps built into the pool so it was straight in to freezing deep water. The cool living area is high on the mountain side - not unusual to be windy. But even in a slight breeze, the parasols were not allowed to be used - even though they are nailed to the floor - meaning no shade so sunburn or sitting inside. Overall this was neither effortless or spacious - a million miles away from the 5* experience we expected and paid for.

    The accommodation at Domes Aulus Elounda was phenomenal. The hotel staff were very attentive and so helpful throughout our stay. The facilities were lovely and clean and the food was unreal. Location was great for a quiet stay with places nearby to visit in walking distance or by car/taxi. We will be returning to this hotel.
