Superb hotel, great facilities, clean. Food was also excellent.

There was no evening entertainment. The panoramic bar was not open at all, the ground floor bar was never open in the evening and closed totally 2 days before the end of our holiday. When we asked about this we were told it was because it was September. We were not made aware when we booked this holiday for the middle of September that the hotel would be shutting things down whilst we were there

The first night we woke up in an unbearable sewage smell coming from the bathroom. The issue was the sewage pipes visiting cove. Facilities guy showed up with a deodorant spray but didn’t seal the cover. Second night same issue and we had to wait in the balcony for a few hours until they allocated a different room. Second room was fine except the pillows being very worn and stained. We asked reception to replace the pillows but it didn’t happen for 12 nights, the rest of our stay. Hotel staff was generally not bothered and not helpful at all. Entertainment was decent for the first week but second week was just a guy putting music from a playlist whilst checking his phone. The lifts were a major issue. The floor was selected from the hallway panel and there was a long wait for a lift to be allocated and sometimes the lift arrived full and the wait started again. I’m assuming it is an energy saving system but not compatible with a busy hotel
