Not up to our expectations for a hotel advertised as 4 star. Beds were simple wooden frames with a mattress on top, like a youth hostel! The sheets were not big enough to fit the mattresses, we awoke every morning to find all the bedding had come out and was on the floor, including the bottom sheet! Tea/coffee stocks were never replenished, cups not washed. The shower wet the whole of the bathroom floor meaning every time you visited the toilet your feet got wet which made walking on the bedroom floor tiles very slippery and dangerous. Additional charge to use the room safe and beach towels - would have expected to leave a deposit but not be charged with no refund for return. No lift, had to walk up/down 2 flights of stairs to our room and carry our own cases down on leaving day. Restaurant was nothing more than a cafeteria, we were so disappointed with the food that we ate out most evenings. Restaurant next to the hotel had extremely loud music playing all day, every day making reading sat on the balcony impossible. The Alykanas Beach hotel is more suitable for young people with young families who just want sun, sand and sea not more mature visitors seeking a degree of comfort. We were promised a quiet and peaceful holiday but our experience was anything but that!

It's a shame the hotel didn't have a lounge area with a bar.

Beds could be higher

There was three of staying in the room and apart from three beds everything else was for two people cups, chairs etc we were a bit disappointed and had to ask for extra of everything.

Rooms are a good size with Air con also in the room. Bathroom has a overhead fixed shower and a small shower on a flexi hose too. One of a couple of gripes is the bathroom is more like a wetroom. The area under the shower has almost no depth to it and although it has a long rectangular drain it was'nt good enough. The water would flow out into the main area and whilst there was another level 4 inch square drain a short distance from the Toilet pan the whole floor would hold water. Not great for using the Toilet later. Maybe a Squeege a a stick in there would be a good idea,you could wipe the floor then.The Light switches for the room really were a strange setup and i never got used to the working of them. You also get a nice sized Balcony with two chairs a a small table good enough for your drinks. An outside Drying rail would of been nice to hang wet Towels etc. Hair dryer was provided along with Tea and Coffee making equipment. A safe is also in the room but you pay extra for that.
