Show moreWe were shown to our room, upon inspection the bedsheets had marks, which looked like blood and faeces. The bathroom door wouldn’t open (it was a sliding door). This was quickly resolved by housekeeping freshening up the bed and a maintenance man came to repair the door. He made a mess on the floor and said he’d be back later. He came back a short while later to fix the problem, we advised him there was no hot water either, he gesture that it would be sorted and left without clearing up. Once we got in the bathroom we realised the plug would not open once shut and there were no towels as I went to dry my hands. housekeeping came (without even reporting any issues) and provided us with towels. It was clear that they realised there were no towels because they couldn’t access the bathroom initially but didn’t think to get the door repaired before we entered the accommodation. I asked if she could get somebody to clean the mess up on the floor and she said she’ll be back. Nobody came back, I went to reception to report the plug and the mess, to be honest, I wasn’t convinced they were going to get it sorted that night. I was correct, as when we went back to the apartment room later that evening the mess was still on the floor. It was only cleaned the following morning when housekeeping came to do their daily routine. Also, their solution for the plug not working was to remove it. This meant we could not fill the sink with water. Saturday morning my husband went to breakfast, he rang me later to say be careful with the floor as he had slipped down the steps near our accommodation. The cleaners had mopped the floor, it was soaking wet, no signs were put out. After breakfast I went to Reception to report this, not sure if they have official paperwork to complete for accidents, as nothing was filled in, they apologised and once again I didn’t feel confident that they were going to deal with the issue. I tried to explain that while I appreciate the cleaners had a job to do, did they really need to do it that time in the morning, when the majority of people were coming and going for breakfast, I stated there were no signs to indicate a wet floor and pointed to the one in the reception so they understood what I was talking about. It’s states on the website that they speak a few different languages, however, only a few staff I felt were confident in English. Most of the time I had to communicate using some sort of hand signals and basic English. Later on we met with the Tui representative, he was very informative about what we could do in the town. He opened up a case complaint I believe for us where we stated what happened with regards the room upon arrival and my husband‘s accident. I have two photos of my husband’s injuries, which is a bruise on his back. One is the day of the accident and the other is the next day which shows a significant bruise. He was in pain for two days and had difficulty sleeping during the night due to the location of the bruise. Overall, I would not rate the hotel as four stars. The website indicates they have renovated, however this was six years ago. As with any resort regular maintenance should be completed, especially to keep the four stars. Although it wasn’t dirty, it looked shabby and slightly rundown in certain areas. These I found were mainly the toilets. Which had rotten woodwork at the bottom of the door frames. I am now putting this down to the fact that the cleaners over mop the floor which then soaks into the woodwork and makes it rot. Toilet locks don’t work because the doors aren’t aligned to the frame properly, toilet seats have ingrained stains on them. Paint is peeling, walls are dirty. These things are easily remedied. I wasn’t really impressed with the inclusive drinks. The poolside bar didn’t have enough staff working, there was always a line, I wouldn’t like to be here in the height of Summer. The sun loungers were ingrained with dirt and needed a good scrub or in fact, just get brand-new ones. I have no idea how sun loungers get dirty that much. The area of the beach designated for hotel guests was superb, with pads for the sun beds and a parasol. The guy looking after this area was very attentive. The day before we were due home, I received a notification confirming pick up would be 7 am. Later on I checked the app and no information was on there, it had a message dating transfer information could not be updated at this moment in time/wasn’t available and that our route had changed. This made me go slightly into panic mode and I text the Tui representative to ask what was going on. He didn’t reply until late Monday afternoon when we were home. As I didn’t have a reply by the morning of departure, I managed to contact the helpline who confirmed the pick up was still 7 am. It got to 7:10 am (for reference we got dropped off right by the hotel entrance in a private car park by a mini bus) next minute a man walked towards the hotel, not sure if he was a member of staff coming to work. Asked if we were Tui and when I replied, yes, he pointed towards the direction of the road. As we started walking towards the road, another local said- Tui?? and pointed towards a representative. The representative I did not find very pleasant and I was very disappointed that she couldn’t be bothered to walk to the Reception to inform us there was a coach waiting. We had no indication that we wouldn’t be picked up in a mini bus, the representative on Saturday morning never told us of anything. There’s no Tui noticeboard in the hotel and the hotel staff themselves didn’t have a clue of any transfer times. This is something I’ve never encountered on holiday before. Receptions were always aware of what time transfers/pickups would be. For the integrity of your reputation, I would strongly suggest, this hotel is no longer included on your website. They had a general lack of care across every aspect of the hotel. We are considering making a compensation claim for the accident, before we do this, we’d appreciate the chance to talk to somebody to resolve this without the need for a claim. I have taken photos of areas of the hotel mentioned above.
