Great place only let down by a mediocre breakfast.

Stunning hotel with lovely staff, pools and spa options. The restaurants were nice, perhaps another restaurant option would enhance the all inclusive experience. We found out on the day we were leaving that you could order specific breakfast favourites - omelettes etc that we weren’t made aware of. Perhaps this could have been made aware/on a menu. On the whole the food was fantastic particularly the patisserie options. Salads, vegetables and fruit selection was stunning every day but meat and fish was a little overcooked most days being under the heat lamp. The staff were so unbelievably friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The rooms were super and clean and we even got an upgrade to a private pool as a surprise for my Mum’s birthday so that was really special. Complimentary 30min spa treatment was a really nice touch. Ferry transfer was a new and lovely start to our holiday - would definitely explore this option in the future more.

The hotel was absolutely not 5 star, we had plaster falling off above the shower, ants swarming our room (videos taken), couldn't use a hairdryer with any mirror as the lead wasn't long enough and the plugs were not hear any mirror. The food was always tepid and I struggled to eat the buffet food, the served food quite often didn't have any potatoes and you had to go and get some from tge buffet dishes which were covered in other sauces (and this is if you were lucky enough for their to be any), yet they served some form of potatoes with breakfast?? The bar, restaurant, beach bar and reception staff were all amazing and worked very hard as did the porter. The cleaner was a nice lady but it took her 5 days to clean up all the dead ants she had killed. I had to wet a tissue and fill a hole in the patio doors where the ants were getting in. The beach wasn't a private area as loads of family put their brolleys up and pitched next to our beds, when I asked the beach bar staff, they said that it wasn't private in summer. All in all, I have been to far better 4 star resorts.

Fabulous room and excellent service

Loved every moment of the Alexander golden beach Absolutely gutted it's being changed to a family hotel I'm so glad I've experienced it as a 55 room adult only hotel , it was so so good
