Beautiful hotel, staff on reception often appear too busy to help you but all other staff are brilliant!

Show moreHotel is aesthetically pleasing to the eye on initial arrival, but when you get into your time you begin to see through the facade, cracks/ rips /beer stained furniture/ cracked tiles around the pool/ lights hanging off in the pool COCROACHES in your room!!!- to mention a few🤔
Show moreOur room was very good, and kept very clean, the only problem we found was that the A/C stopped on the last night.
Show moreWe just returned from a seven night stay (15th-22nd June) at Riu Palace Taghazout. When we were booking the holiday and trying to pick a hotel to stay, we had narrowed down to a few options, and I am SO glad we picked this place! Genuinely one of the NICEST, most gorgeous hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Food/Drink: Food was SO good—they had something for everyone. There were 3 restaurants (plus a buffet restaurant); the Krystal, which was a seafood type restaurant, a Moroccanspeciality restaurant (really nice food here, better than the seafood to be honest!) and a steakhouse (some of the best steak we ever had). These restaurants are constantly booked up, however; we tried making a booking on Tuesday for the steakhouse and the earliest we could get was Friday at 9pm, so make to make a reservation on the Riu Hotels app as soon as you can! The buffet breakfast had everything you could ask for—every type of egg, pancakes, toast, bread, donuts, fruit, cereal, fry-up, every type of smoothie, teas/coffees and Moroccan local breakfast food too. The buffet lunch and dinner also had a wide and varied selection of delicious foods—spaghetti, pasta, steak, roasts, fish, salads, curries, rice, potatoes, fruit, chips, burgers, local food, desserts, ice cream, soft drinks; everything! Staff: The staff, from the poolside bars to the restaurants, to housekeeping to the wonderful, amazing entertainment staff (especially Oussama, who asked us ‘what’s the craic!’ every day and loved playing darts/bingo with us, as well as possessing incredible enthusiasm for every activity; Soukina, whose bubbly and fun personality I will miss and was just so lovely and kind to us on our last day; and Mehdi, who always made sure we were happy and satisfied while also making sure we were having lots fun. There was also another guy there, one of the days he was dressed like a pirate, I don’t know his name and we didn’t actually interact with him much but we just wanted to call him out as it was clear he loves his job and putting a smile on people’s faces. Also by far the best dancer!!). They always wanted to chat, ask us where we were from, and nothing was ever too much for them. All the staff, in every part of the hotel, were just amazing and always gave it 110% every single day. Rooms: Our room was 4214 (4th floor) and was the most basic room you could get with the hotel, and yet, it was absolutely perfect. Spacious, beautiful balcony with sea views, gorgeous bathroom/shower, and a restocked mini fridge every day. If you want a room overlooking the pool you will need to fork out some more money (understandably) but just know the basic twin rooms a bit further away from the main hotel area are also perfect. Activities: Full list of activities were available on a board in the theatre room, and included loads to do like darts, ping pong/table tennis tournaments, aqua fun (this happens around 4pm every day and it is SO much fun), water polo, volleyball, dance club, and my favourite, bingo (unfortunately we never won!). Live music and entertainment at night included Cabaret show, circus, oriental night, pirate night, a ‘white party’ night where you dress all in white, and they also show the World Cup matches too. Facilities: All the pools were amazing but our favourite was the one with the swim up bar! You have to try them all, I think there’s 7 so one for every day of the week. Always clean and you could bring your drinks into the pool with you too. Regarding sun loungers, if you want one in a good spot you should probably get down before 8am, but one of the days we did a tour and didn’t get back until 3pm and we still got some good sun loungers. The day beds however WILL be gone by 7.10am, with the ones by the infinity pool (the most private ones, in my opinion) were gone by 6.50am. The day beds are obviously more comfortable than the sun loungers and are also great for groups so if you want one, definitely get down early. If you’re booking with Tui, there is a Tui rep in the hotel every morning-afternoon and you can book your tours and excursions with them. We booked a tour of Agadir with cable car and it was very enjoyable. Tui also organised our transfers which was very helpful and always on time. I would highly recommend booking with Tui! Overall this holiday was a 10/10 for us. We enjoyed virtually everything and I cannot praise the staff more, who really made it all the more memorable. I really hope to come back here soon and will be recommending it to all my friends and family! Thank you!
