    Recommended

    Exceptionally well maintained grounds and overall a clean, luscious space. Friendly and helpful staff members. Wide range of food/drinks as you could eat at the family side as well as the adults-only. Comfiest bed and amazing large bathtub. Choice of a lively pool or one with a more relaxed vibe close to the beach. I would 100% recommend this hotel to my friends and family, it did not disappoint!

    The room is need of general maintenance and updating, with particular concentration on the damp smell throughout out stay, which is detrimental to health. The floor was mopped by the cleaner but not brushed first so all the bits of dust, dirt, etc., were still there when the floor dried. There was mould on the ceiling in the bathroom area and above the bath tub, the grouting around the shower was black, the water out of the shower head only trickled all holiday, the air-conditioning unit produced water stains on the ceiling (this was reported to Reception who sent a maintenance guy who said it must have been caused by us not closing the patio door. When we advised we only use it when the door is closed (a total of 3 times), he then blamed the maid for using it when the patio door is open. There was no lagging around the pipes.

    There were certain areas around the infinity pool, where the majority of the slabs were either broken or loose, and is a trip hazard, just waiting to happen.

    Recommended

    Quite a few of us in our overall party (about 20) were ill at some point during the trip. The toilet in our room kept breaking down, although staff were relatively quick to fix these issues. It was difficult to book restaurant slots in the evening in non-buffet places, even with small numbers. Some of the resort staff were not particularly cheerful. On the plus side the breakfasts were very good, our room was very spacious, the pools and bars were excellent and there was a wide range of sporting activities to choose from. In terms of excursions booked, Lucas (Wow!) was terrific. He arranged a Santo Domingo day trip for us which was very good value.
